Athletics at CCNY is also a way students, faculty, staff and alumni of the college come together to support City
College and show school spirit, creating a great college athletic environment.

CCNY features 15 varsity sports, seven for women
(volleyball, soccer, tennis, basketball, fencing, Indoor and outdoor track and field) and eight for men (soccer, cross country, basketball, baseball, tennis, volleyball, indoor and outdoor track and field). Fifteen sports have long histories of success and championships, both individual and team.

CCNY (5-2 overall, 0-1 CUNYAC North) won its only game of the week, a 73-64 defeat of Mitchell College, in large part due to the play of this week’s Rookie of the Week, Ashley Straughn. The freshman center recorded game highs with 20 points and 15 rebounds. She added two assists, three steals and one blocked shot in 30 minutes of action. CCNY returns to action in two weeks, when Gallaudet University travels to the Nat Holman Gym on December 29.
