Colin L. Powell Center
for Leadership and Service
Student-Led Initiatives
The Colin Powell Center’s student-led initiatives support community service and leadership development on campus at CCNY, locally in Harlem and elsewhere in New York City, and in individual communities internationally. Two of the Center's student-led initiative programs also provide financial support, enabling students to participate in volunteer efforts and to assume leadership roles in civic-engagement activities on campus. The Center supports student service through the following programs:
Community Engagement Fellowships
Through its Community Engagement Fellowships, the Center supports CCNY students as they design and lead campus-based projects that meet community needs. More
Edward I. Koch Scholarships
Through its Edward I Koch Scholarships in Public Service, the Center supports CCNY students who participate in independent volunteer efforts. Since 2005, CCNY students have provided more than 8,446 hours of community service to organizations locally in Harlem and in the greater New York City area through this program. More
