Anna Chang is a third year student at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. She served as co-president of the medical club in high school, which collaborated with the Long Island Jewish Health Care System to provide a health fair to the community. The involvement of doctors in promoting the health of her peers and their parents contributed to Anna’s interest in public service. That interest is cultivated today through her volunteerism at a local hospital and church. Anna hopes to combat disparities that negatively impact health status by integrating her major in biomedical education with a strong foundation in public health policy. In the future, she hopes to incorporate her Chinese ethnicity by practicing in an underserved Mandarin-speaking community.
