Michael Kvasic
New York Life Undergraduate Scholar, 2012-2014
Michael Kvasic, a graduate of Staten Island Technical High School, is a biomedical studies major at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. As the child of Croatian immigrants, Michael has long wished to pursue his dreams of entering the field of medicine and of giving back to his community. In addition to pursuing his medical degree, Michael hopes to expand his understanding of public policy and to take a more active role in the health-care policymaking process, which will greatly affect his future as a physician. Michael has volunteered at a rehabilitation center where he witnessed stroke victims learning to walk and speak again in order to regain their lives. He believes that by reaching out to the community, you not only learn about the people around you, but also discover just how much of a positive impact you can have on them.
