Ahsan Sayed
Dobrich New Americans Scholar, 2011-2013
Ahsan Sayed, a native of Bangladesh and a student of the Macaulay Honors College, was certain for years that his future lay in the field of medicine. However, he also developed an intense passion for political science, which he refused to acknowledge as a viable career path. However, through a summer internship in Washington D.C. with the Rosenberg Humphrey Scholarship program, Ahsan gained first-hand experience of America's political process. He then decided to move headlong in political science. Now, as a double major in biology and political science, Ahsan plans to pursue a career in academia with a Ph.D. in political science.
