Daniel Asemota
New York Life Undergraduate Scholar, 2011-2013
Daniel Asemota, a native of Nigeria, is a biomedical education major in the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education (Class of 2014). Passionate about the sciences, Daniel is pursuing his dream of becoming a primary care physician. He plans to focus on the needs of under-represented minorities and facilitate this goal through public policy. Despite his rigorous academic schedule, Daniel finds time to give back to his community. His past volunteer service includes participation in the Partners at Learning (P.A.L.) Science program and tutoring at the South Jamaica Police Athletic League. Currently, he tutors students at A.P. Randolph High School through his affiliation with the Student Medical Association. Daniel, who cites his mother as his greatest inspiration, says, "Blind men have the most vivid dreams. For what the eye visualizes are just limitations to the countless possibilities of human achievement."
