Ian Hoffman
Colin Powell Fellow, 2011-2013
Ian Hoffman is a biomedical studies major at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical education, pursuing minors in Asian studies and physics. Born in Queens, Ian graduated in 2009 from the Bronx High School of Science. He is a member of CCNY's lacrosse team and clubs throughout campus. Ian is active in research; first completing research for an INTEL project, and then conducting research in molecular biophysics. He participates on the CCNY Model United Nations team, and has been involved in Global Classroom's Model United Nations competitions for over six years, including as a delegate in over 35 conferences. International policy is a passion of his, but Ian has also worked on local policy issues. As an intern in the Office of Medical Affairs for the Fire Department of New York, he helped to shape policy for emergency medical services throughout the city; through this opportunity, he combined his twin passions for public policy and medicine. Ian is looking forward to working on international medical policy after completing his medical education.
