Nicole Sample is a third-year student at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. A native of Long Island, Nicole is pursuing her long-held goal of becoming a physician. At CCNY, she is treasurer of the Student National Medical Association, which aims to diversify the face of medicine and increase the number of minorities in the medical field. She is also a student volunteer in the labor-and-delivery department at Harlem Hospital Center. Upon completion of the Sophie Davis seven-year medical program, Nicole plans to earn a master’s degree in public health. Eventually she hopes to practice as an obstetrician-gynecologist and use her experience in public health to help alleviate some of the health disparities affecting minority populations.
