Born and raised in rural Connecticut, Olivia Bailey is an international studies major whose concentration is in development. Before enrolling at CCNY, Olivia expanded Manhattanville College’s outreach program for teenagers who live in transitional homes. She also served as an English tutor through the organization “Women for Afghan Women,” and she interned with the United Nations conference “Reaffirming Human Rights for All: The Universal Declaration at 60.”  Olivia’s academic interest includes exploring the barriers that women and other underserved populations face in breaking the cycle of poverty and in obtaining rights.  She aspires to facilitate the cooperation between government bodies and NGOs in serving at-risk populations.
