Anastasiya Panas, a CUNY Baccalaureate student, is pursuing a double major in international and Eastern European studies. A native of the Ukraine, Anastasiya has a particular interest in issues facing Eastern Europeans as a result of the collapse of Soviet Union and the transition to democracy and capitalism.

Toni-Ann Preston, a native of St. Catherine, Jamaica, is pursuing a dual degree in international studies and political science. In her freshman year of high school, she participated in the Junior State of America program, where for a month she attended classes at Yale University on policy issues, attended weekly policy symposiums, and debated fellow high school students from around the world.

A native of Bangladesh, Shantanu Roy is an international studies major and history minor. He came to the United States six years ago, and in 2006 was enrolled at Newcomers High School. There he had the opportunity to integrate himself into a highly diverse environment with students from around the globe, an experience that, he says, helped him to visualize the world from different perspectives.
