In the first few months of 2011, we have seen an unprecedented spread of protest movements throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Tunisian demonstrators who ousted their autocratic leader in early January became the first in the wave of protest movements that spread rapidly and inspired the Egyptian anti-government organizers, and later rebellions in Libya.
