Building Access Classrooms are unlocked in the morning by the custodial staff and locked at night after cleaning. At the request of the faculty, the locks on the doors are designed to be locked from the inside by the instructor during classes if desired, to insure that classes are not interrupted. Because of this arrangement, classrooms may accidentally become locked between classes by someone pulling the door shut while no one is in the classroom to open it.
If you are locked out of your office you may call security on ext. 6911. The Security dispatcher will arrange for a guard and a custodian to meet you at your office, unlock your door and verify your identity.
College policy states that all space on campus must be accessible through the use of a College master key. Non-college locks are NOT allowed. Special security systems are monitored by campus Security. Contact Security on 6911 for information on these systems.
Doors to space with security systems installed should be posted with signs that indicate at least two phone numbers that are available 24 hours a day. These numbers should be available to receive information regarding the need for PPS or security to enter the space for emergency purposes, or receive reports of problems
relating to the space. (e.g. flood, fire, electrical outages).
