Position Description and Duties

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

We invite applications for a Lecturer (Doctoral Schedule) in Biology to be filled in the 2012-13 academic year. The successful candidate will have three major responsibilities: 1) teach introductory Biology courses, Biology courses for non-major students, and other Biology courses as needed; 2) supervise and train the instructors in the laboratory sections of different Biology courses; and 3) oversee revision of the laboratory exercises associated with Biology courses, particularly the introductory Biology and other lower-level courses. In addition, service to the Biology department and the Division of Science are expected.





Qualifications and Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have a Ph.D. and a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience at the college/university level with a record of demonstrated teaching ability and prior experience in innovative curriculum development. Candidates should submit a curriculum vitae and a statement of teaching and mentoring experience. Letters of recommendation from three references should be sent directly to the search committee.
