Event Details
Drawing upon multiple fields of study, the Fall 2012 Book Talk Series explores the context of childhood including the institutions, policies, social and educational settings most important to the healthy development of young children.
Dr. Lobman is an Associate Professor at the Rutgers University Graduate School of Education and the director of pedagogy at the East Side Institute. She is a trained social therapist and a core faculty member in the Institute's international training programs. She founded the Institute's Developing Teachers Fellowship Program and currently supervises New York City public and charter schoolteachers. She is co-author of Unscripted Learning: Using Improvisation across the K-8 Curriculum (Teachers College Press, 2007) and co-editor of Play and Culture Series Volume 11: Play and Performance. Dr. Lobman is a frequent speaker, workshop leader and consultant in the areas of play, performance and improvisation and their value to individuals and groups. She received her doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University.
