Spotlight on the
Music Department

Along with our fine traditional music courses, our specialties, the Jazz Performance and Sonic Arts programs, are good reasons to come to study in the Big Apple. And we pride ourselves on the cordial ambiance found throughout the department.

From casual chats in the main office, to studying together in our beautiful music library, to jamming in the practice rooms in the tower, we are all serious musicians encouraging and appreciating each other’s talents on a daily basis.

Pop Music Track
The Music department is now offering courses on popular music as part of its new BA track in popular music. A collection of recommended elective courses, the BA track in popular music allows students in the BA degree to focus their electives on popular music analysis, composition, history, and socio-cultural studies
