The City College Science Division consists of five departments and several interdisciplinary programs. We offer Bachelors and Masters Degrees in all the disciplines. Five of the CUNY PhD programs in the Sciences are housed on our campus.
Our research programs, e.g., Photonics, Nanotechnology, Structural Biology, Neuroscience and Environmental Science, are well funded and highly productive. In addition to our graduate students, our undergraduate research is among the largest in the city of New York, with over 35% of our undergraduates actively participating in cutting edge research, supported by stipends.
Our students are among the most diverse in the country, and the atmosphere in the division is supportive and informal. In the last years we have graduated a Rhodes Scholar and four Goldwater Fellows. The first-prize winner of the Intel competition in 2005 is one of our majors.
An unprecedented growth in research is evident in the Division. Construction of a new CCNY Science research building and a CUNY-wide Advanced Science Center is underway. Through partnerships with other units of the college, and with other institutions we are establishing ourselves as the best choice for excellent and affordable education in the New York City area.
