Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education
Dear Sophie Davis Graduates:
Now in its fourth decade, Sophie Davis continues to expand access to medical studies to student populations that were not otherwise represented and we help provide our communities with well-educated, dedicated health practitioners to meet the need for quality health care.
The most recent Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation–Sophie Davis Career Outcomes Study documents:
--Sophie Davis students succeed:
- 97% of Sophie Davis graduates received M.D. degrees after transferring to cooperating medical schools.
- Among Sophie Davis physicians in direct patient care, 95% are Board Certified.
--We fulfill our mission to expand access to underrepresented populations:
- In the last graduation class studied, 32% of the graduates were from populations underrepresented in the medical profession.
- This year, 53% of the students in our entering class are from populations underrepresented in the medical profession.
The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education has profoundly changed the lives of hundreds of students by providing them with the opportunity and skills to make a difference in their lives and the world around them. Continued progress is made possible because of the compassionate response of friends and alumni.
