Ten CCNY Students Named Sophie and Leonard Davis Scholar, December 5, 2013

The City College of New York announced today that ten fourth-year students in the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education Biomedical Sciences Program have been chosen to receive the Sophie and Leonard Davis Scholarship, which awards $30,000 toward medical studies. The Future of Sophie Davis: Accredited Medical School

The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education offers a seven-year biomedical program located in the heart of Harlem, New York. It has long been known for providing minority students with an outstanding education in the biomedical sciences, as well as producing primary care physicians who work in underserved communities. Since the founding of the program in 1973, it has been able to fulfill this mission. Students spend five years at the City College of New York, where they complete their undergraduate education as well as the first two years of medical studies curriculum. Continue reading...
